Magnum Work Boots remain the top choice for workers due to the advanced technology of their features. These features are more than just whistles and bells, they are the fruits of Magnum’s technological advancements that ensure that workers can perform their tasks with confidence, comfort, and safety in the challenging conditions of the trade industries. As such, Magnum Safety Workboots stand as the best choice for workers seeking reliable performance and unmatched protection in their footwear. Here are just some of the secret ingredients that go into the lauded Magnum Boots formula.

Agion

Magnum Boots incorporate Agion technology, an antimicrobial compound that contains silver ions. This is applied to the footwear to help prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria; it is designed to gradually release and counter the optimal conditions for bacterial growth, especially in the presence of rising temperatures and moisture. As humidity levels increase, Agion releases more silver ions to inhibit the development of unpleasant odours. These silver ions form bonds with bacterial microbes at a molecular level, rendering them inactive. This keeps the boots fresh and odour-free, even during long hours of use.

Cambrelle

The use of Cambrelle lining in Magnum Boots enhances breathability and moisture management. It wicks away sweat and moisture from the foot, keeping it dry and comfortable, reducing the risk of blisters and discomfort.

Comfort Insoles

Magnum Boots famously feature comfort insoles that are designed to provide cushioning, support, and shock absorption. These insoles enhance overall comfort, reduce foot fatigue, and provide extra support to the feet during long hours of work.

Cordura

Exogel

Magnum Boots incorporate Exogel technology, which consists of gel cushioning pads strategically placed in key areas of the footbed. These pads provide excellent shock absorption and pressure relief, enhancing comfort and reducing the impact on the feet and joints.

i-Shield

This refers to a protective layer applied to Magnum Boots that makes them resistant to water, oil, and other liquids. This protective coating keeps the boots clean, dry, and stain-free, and also helps to prevent water penetration.

Michelin

Our Guide to Breaking in Your Magnum Boots

A good pair of safety boots should make you feel like a knight in sturdy armour. A really good pair of boots should simultaneously make you feel as snug as a baby roo in its mother’s pouch. But before the boots are broken in? Look, we won’t lie, the flipside of super sturdy boots is that some wearers may experience a period of growing pains, so to speak. So here are our tips on the best ways that you can break that horse in as quickly as you can…

Make Sure You’ve Got the Correct Size

When it comes to a pair of safety boots that are too small from heel to toe, there's no remedy. If your toes feel cramped or the width of your foot extends beyond the footbed, no amount of breaking in will resolve the issue. Conversely, oversized safety boots will only result in constant blister formation. Blisters occur due to friction, and if you find yourself sliding around with each step, you'll never progress beyond the break-in phase. So don’t go in for that “it’s a close enough fit” attitude. Close enough is not close enough! Seriously. You’ll do yourself damage in the long-term if you’re not wearing footwear that fits you!

Wear Thick Socks

To determine if your new safety boots are the right size while keeping them clean for possible return, start by wearing the thickest sock available and walk around indoors. This method allows you to assess their fit without risking dirt or damage. It will also initiate the stretching process of the initially rigid leather. Freshly unboxed leather is at its maximum stiffness and can be softened and stretched effectively through a combination of gentle pressure, heat, and moisture. As such, thick socks will emulate these conditions by providing warmth to your feet while exerting pressure on the upper part of the boots, assisting in moulding them to the contours of your feet.

Wear a Band Aid

As you start breaking in your new boots, it’s not uncommon for blisters to emerge. Rather than endure unnecessary discomfort, make sure you slap a band-aid on these areas immediately. Even if a blister hasn’t emerged yet, if a particular area of the foot is experiencing discomfort from the boot, it’s not unwise to exert a little preventive care and apply a band-aid to that area. We recommend that you opt for larger fabric band-aids, as they offer the best results (the small plastic ones that can become slippery and don’t typically do a great job of staying in place).

Take a Break

It’s not advisable to wear new footwear consecutively during the first several days. The moisture from your feet takes more than just one night to fully evaporate, and allowing the leather to have a day or two of rest between wears offers multiple benefits. This not only provides your feet with a much-needed break from the boot but is also allows sufficient time for the safety boots to dry completely before you wear them again. As a bonus, it will also minimise any initial unpleasant odours caused by foot perspiration.

Keep Your Old Boots Handy as You Transition

Even if your new safety boots feel great, you should be careful about subjecting yourself to a full day of work in them straight away, as your arches may require some respite after a few hours of use. It’s advisable to wear new boots earlier in the day when your feet are still fresh (as they tend to expand over the course of the day due to the pressure exerted by your body weight), and then, after 2 or 3 hours of wear, you may wish to replace the new boots with your old ones for a bit (presuming you’re able to conveniently bring a second pair to work, and presuming your old safety boots are still in good nick).
